WWE Hell In A Cell: 10 Things We Learned

2. John Cena Is Definitely Taking Time Off

Over the past few weeks, there have been online reports circulating that John Cena is about to take a short sabbatical from WWE. Looking at things logically, the man is due some time off, he works harder than almost anybody in the entire company. A holiday, even if brief, would re-energise him for the new year. Perhaps when he did return, Cena could be inserted into the main event mix once more? As things stand, he's no longer WWE United States Champion. Aside from a short spell when Seth Rollins held the belt, Cena has been US Champ pretty much since WrestleMania. There were rumours that WWE were prepared to allow him to hold onto the title in his absence, but that obviously won't happen now. That's a good thing, because the title should be on television. By virtue of the fact he lost so suddenly to Alberto Del Rio at Hell In A Cell, John Cena will now surely take a much-needed rest period. The timing seems right. The loss was a clean one in favour of the Mexican, so it's a fitting way to close this chapter of Cena's career. The product will feel fresher without him for a short while, and his fans will be happy to see him when he does come back.
