WWE Hell in a Cell 2015 - 15 Major Talking points

7. 'Let's Go Roman/Roman Sucks!'

Contrary to popular belief, fans actually exert considerable influence on WWE€™s creative directions. Crowd noise influences which wrestlers get showcased the most, as seen with John Cena being one of the most polarizing figures in WWE. Of course, that wouldn€™t be an issue if fans would stop placing him at the centre of their chants. During the Wyatt-Reigns Hell in a Cell match, Reigns got the €˜Cena treatment€™ as fans started chanting €˜Let€™s Go Roman/Roman sucks€™. In doing so, the fans decided to make Reigns the exclusive focus of their chanting, instead of chanting for Wyatt against Reigns. By giving Reigns the Cena treatment the fans are falling into WWE€™s trap: making a superstar €˜polarizing€™ is today€™s method of getting them over as a top draw. This kind of chanting needs to be changed, and the solution is simple. Instead of chanting €˜Let€™s go Roman/Roman sucks€™, chant €˜Let€™s go Roman/Let€™s go Wyatt€™. That way, it would demonstrate that Wyatt too has many supporters, and certain segments of the audience are defining themselves by their support for one wrestler, instead of their opposition to another.
