3. The Contentious WWE Title Finish

Uh oh, spaghetti-o, Paige has quite the dilemma on her hands over on SmackDown. Technically speaking, Samoa Joe is the rightful WWE Champion. AJ Styles did tap out to his submission before the referee counted Joe's shoulders down for the three, after all.

When that happened, it seemed Paige might vacate the title and book a rematch on Tuesday. She won't, and the GM has in fact already lined up Joe vs. Styles III for Super Show-Down. That's a match to look forward to, one that could herald in a bold new dawn for the blue brand.

Whatever happens, it's a joy to see these ex-TNA workhorses go at it for the most historically important belt WWE has to offer. By booking a contentious finish, WWE maintained Joe's strength as a threat to AJ and side-stepped having to take the belt off Styles before his 2K19 cover star hype restarts.

Nicely done.
