Pre-show, this writer claimed that there had to be some interference in the Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns Cell match (he also wrote both guys should start on top of the structure, but let's ignore that. Not every wish can come true!). On the night, it was argued, Braun and Roman would need a little added spice to justify WWE storylines over the past few weeks.

Right before Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose ran out to draw attention away from what was happening inside the ring, Strowman vs. Reigns had started to sag a little.

Aside from his obvious star power, Mick Foley was adding little to the match as special guest referee, and an impressive Roman Spear on Braun through a table propped up in the corner was met with the most modest of pops from the fans. Then, their stablemates emerged, and the place came unglued.

A Rollins and Ziggler announce table bump off the side of the cell scratched that high spot itch, and there was an Attitude era-style frenzy to the closing moments. It was almost as though anything could happen. Then, it did.
