WWE Hell In A Cell 2022: 10 Nightmares That Could Come True
SURPRISE! Could Bray Wyatt be WWE's next panic button at Hell In A Cell?!
An awful lot of people probably clicked this article after seeing that pic and thought: "Pfft!". That's fair enough, and not just because Bray Wyatt's mug is splashed up there. Wrestling fans would also be forgiven for wondering why Wyatt returning to WWE could be considered a "nightmare" at all.
Read on to find out, people.
Other worries eating away at this writer's brain box include unnecessary title wins (and losses) on Sunday's card. Would it really surprise anyone if company creative booked a short championship reign for an outspoken Raw star, then whipped the belt back off him within the hour?
Hell In A Cell isn't the most important WWE pay-per-view of the year - it isn't even the most important supershow of the summer, but it could be a newsworthy one. Vince McMahon's big challenge will be ensuring that it doesn't make headlines for the wrong reasons, or give those overworked staffers even greater headaches afterwards.
Dodgy decisions, matches that don't even come close to fitting the Cell gimmick, wobbly comebacks and more. These are the biggest nightmare scenarios keeping fans awake at night pre-HIAC.
10. MVP Pins Bobby Lashley
WWE's track record when it comes to booking credible (and likeable) babyfaces is spotty. Bobby Lashley's recent shift from champagne-sipping heel to inspiring mountain of muscle has been jarring for some fans, including this one, but he at least deserves the chance to succeed as a good guy.
Bob's chances will be shot if he jobs to MVP this Sunday.
The big man is on shaky ground as a baby, chiefly because he spent so long as a heel and 'cause this feud with Omos and Porter hasn't exactly been top-tier. Staring at the lights for his old manager would set Lashley back further, and it'd also do nothing for Omos - y'know, the other guy WWE should be focusing on.
Surely, surely MVP is only involved here so he can taste a spear from his old client and do the honours. If he pins Lashley, then christ knows where WWE go with the story or Bobby's babyface run.
