WWE Hershey Live Event: 10 Interesting Observations
8. Big Show, Kane And The Dudley Boyz Are Still Hugely Over
From the moment Chimel kicked off the night's show by announcing that the main event of the evening would pit Kane and Big Show against Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman in a Tornado Rules Hershey Street Fight, it was clear that those in attendance still had a love for the giant babyfaces that the more impassioned audience does not. When Big Show and Kane made their entrances into the arena, that love became even more apparent, their arrivals greeted with thunderous ovations. Even earlier in the night, The Dudley Boyz generated a big pop as they arrived for the Six-Man Tag Team match that saw them team with The Miz in a loss to The Usos and Dolph Ziggler. Four Superstars who were major players during the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras were met with much love and appreciation by fans who may not be as enthralled with the current product but were all about showing respect to those men who had worked so hard to deliver so many incredible matches and moments over their Hall of Fame-worthy careers. While they may not be the same performers they were in their prime, their name and star power still carry considerable weight with the WWE Universe, no matter how vocal fans across the Internet may be about them retiring.
Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
