Fightful Select is reporting that WWE has experienced delays brought on by weather and flooding in the New Jersey area whilst setting up MetLife Stadium for this weekend's SummerSlam 2025 PLE.

Flood warnings came in early afternoon on Thursday, which caused the company's staff to press pause on set construction. Company sources told Fightful that they don't foresee any major problems, and they expect to complete the setup on time before Saturday's opening night kicks off.

At 2:15pm on Thursday, WWE pulled staff working on the set off the field at MetLife and erected a shelter. Fightful has also "had looks at the set construction area" - they spotted a shelter where the "ring area" will be, and noted that the ringside area hadn't been pieced together quite yet. However, parts of the stage and set were already in place.

It does, however, look like WWE will overcome this hitch to complete SummerSlam's set on time. The promotion's production team are well-known to be world class, but they were surely worried by some of the weather and flooding reports heading their way whilst mid-setup.

SummerSlam 2025 will be the first 2-night summer PLE in WWE history. Triple H and other top brass made the decision to bring the August spectacular in line with WrestleMania, so fans expect SummerSlam to be huge. There's a lot of excitement surrounding the event, not only in New Jersey but worldwide.

Stay tuned for further updates if WWE runs into any other problems with the weather.
