WWE Just Spoiled Its Own Mystery Wrestler Angle (WWE News)

WWE.com seems to confirm Lola Vice's mystery No Mercy attacker.

With NXT No Mercy 2025 now in the books, one notable talking point was the identity of a mystery attacker who cost Lola Vice in her match for Jacy Jayne's NXT Women's Championship. That said, WWE has kinda already ruined that mystery themselves.

Having since edited their original post, WWE.com's official recap of No Mercy initially identified Lainey Reid as Vice's attacker, reading, "Jacy Jayne retained the NXT Women’s Championship thanks to a shocking assist from Lainey Reid."

Now, many fans presumed that Reid was the most likely candidate here, particularly with how she's been interacting with Jayne and Fatal Influence in the past few weeks. However, it appears that somebody at WWE.com jumped the gun a little with this reveal.

Lainey herself was scheduled for action at No Mercy, where she was set to challenge Sol Ruca for the WWE Women's Speed Title. Reid was pulled from that match due to an apparent foot injury, with her replaced by Jaida Parker; Ms. Parker ultimately coming up short against Sol after interference from Lash Legend.

Given how Jazmyn Nyx was recently attacked by someone and kicked out of Fatal Influence, that certainly opens the door for the group to add a new member, and Lainey Reid very much fits the 'mean girl' bill on that front. In reality, Nyx opted against signing a new three-year WWE deal, deciding that she would rather pursue other opportunities away from pro wrestling.

Elsewhere at NXT No Mercy, Ricky Saints defeated Oba Femi to become the new NXT Champion, Jordynne Grace got the W over Blake Monroe in a weaponised steel cage match, Ethan Page retained the North American Championship against Tavion Heights, and Je'Von Evans got the better of Josh Briggs. In other news coming out of that PLE, NXT GM Ava announced an NXT and TNA Invasion special for the October 7 edition of NXT.
