WWE King Of The Ring 2019: 7 Ways WWE Can Make It Work

1. Ditch The Royal Garb

Speaking of which.

Poor Wade Barrett looked like an utter clown as he donned a fake crown, dressed up in a garish robe and carried around a cheap-looking sceptre in 2015. As 'King' Barrett, his 'Bad News' coolness, Nexus leader edge and menace full stop evaporated within weeks. It felt like a bad joke playing out at the Englishman's expense.

WWE simply cannot try the same thing again. That royal dress-up gear they've probably got in storage somewhere has to be thrown in an incinerator, not dusted off for 2019's winner. It kills all credibility instantly, and makes KOTR look second-rate rather than important. Please, for the love of God please can this silly gimmick die already!?

It's useless, has done nothing for the previous two KOTR winners and only worked with Booker T because his genius was able to overcome buffoonery to make it work. Sheamus and Barrett weren't so lucky, and that meant becoming King was a noose around their royal necks when it should've been a blessing.
