WWE Live Review From Allentown - 10 Interesting Observations From Ringside

2. Dean Ambrose: Antihero Is SUPER Over

Anyone watching Monday Night Raw can tell that Dean Ambrose is over. The crowd reactions grow in volume and intensity every week as he brings an unpredictable nature to WWE television. A modern day antihero in the same mold of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Ambrose fails to work within the system. He is anti-authority, a nonconformist that fans tired of the cookie cutter nature of WWE's resident Superman, John Cena. Clad in blue jeans and a plain tank top, Ambrose is the complete opposite of the bright, marketable stars WWE typically likes to splash all over its marketing and merchandising materials. Still, he has managed to strike a nerve unlike many of the young talents he shares the roster with. On Sunday night, Ambrose exploded through the curtain to the biggest pop of the night. Greeted with a reaction typically reserved for Cena, Ambrose showed tremendous fire, repaying the audience for their support. Every moment that he was in the ring, there was a noticeable electricity in the arena. He may not have looked like or dressed like a Superstar many would consider the biggest attraction in the industry but he held the audience in the palm of his hand like one. His non-traditional offense and willingness to throw caution to the wind to deal out pain and suffering to his opponents endeared him to the audience and brought an excitement to the main event that helped cap the show off in style.
