WWE Money In The Bank: 14 Things You Might Have Missed

13. Stellar Gag Work From The Announce Team

During R-Truth's match with King Barrett (who came down to the ring dressed like a Roman solider from a preschool nativity play), Michael Cole and JBL left Jerry 'The King' Lawler out to dry. A lot of Lawler 'jokes' are one-liners but others require a bit of byplay with his colleagues to work. JBL and Cole decided that they weren't playing that s**t. In response to Barrett's alleged claims that he was better than the Beatles, Lawler said that "Ringo Starr would be turning in his grave." The correct response to that was 'but Ringo's not dead', to which King would respond: 'well that would kill him." But Cole and JBL ignored him. Flustered, and with 'fake' anger in his voice, King was forced to play out how the routine should have gone all by himself. JBL, Cole, and King: Smooth operators.
