Alberto Del Rio defeated Rey Mysterio, Kofi Kingston, Alex Riley, R-Truth, The Miz, Evan Bourne, and Jack Swagger to win the Raw MITB Ladder Match in 2011. Now firmly away from WWE, the renamed Alberto El Patron popped up in Impact Wrestling and became TNA Heavyweight Champion at Slammiversary 2017. He's also in a relationship with WWE star Paige.

Mysterio, himself a top Mexican wrestling star, left WWE after 13 years in 2015 and made a splash in Lucha Underground. He is also involved in the Pro Wrestling World Cup promoted by WCPW, coincidentally alongside Evan Bourne. Known today as Matt Sydal, Bourne was released by WWE in 2014 following a year on the injury list and now works mainly for NJPW and ROH.

Whilst The Miz, R-Truth and Kofi Kingston still appear for WWE today (the latter as part of the wildly successful New Day team), Jack Swagger decided to request his release from contract earlier this year and has started working on the independent scene.

Finally, Alex Riley had his contract terminated in May, 2016 and has been outspoken about WWE's system ever since. Attempting to move into acting, Riley did get a part in the Netflix-produced GLOW series, appearing in one episode as 'Steel Horse'.
