WWE Money In The Bank 2016: 5 Near-Guarantees & 5 Possible Surprises
7. Possible Surprise: Alberto Del Rio Pulls Off An Upset
Stop laughing to yourself and please don't close the tab - hear me out, I hope this prediction is as incorrect as I'm sure you do as well. However, there is some sad logic behind this entry and everybody loves a longshot, right?
Cast your minds back to the Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2015: Dolph Ziggler, Neville, Kofi Kingston, Kane, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton, all potential winners that would have provided storylines with purpose. And then there was Sheamus, a Superstar added to the match with no real purpose or logic fueling the decision.
Not only did the dullest possible competitor in Sheamus win the MITB match, he cashed in and became WWE World Heavyweight Champion rather inexplicably. Who is to say that won't happen again?
Fast forward to the present and Alberto Del Rio is in an identical position, added to the match with no real rhyme or reason. He could very well just be making up the numbers, and surely WWE wouldn't do this to us a second year in a row, but Del Rio becoming a two-time MITB winner can't be ruled out especially after what happened last year.
