WWE Money In The Bank 2017: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best
2. Money In The Bank: Charlotte Vs. Becky Lynch Vs. Tamina Vs. Carmella Vs. Natalya
Result: With some assistance from James Ellsworth, Carmella grabs the Money in the Bank briefcase (13:20).
Rating: This one had a rough start and employed way too much of the usual multi-person booking, where most of the participants sleep while two wrestle in the ring, but for a good chunk of the match it actually seemed destined to live up to the hype of its historic significance.
It was a fast-paced and exciting sprint, making good use of ladders and certainly more than many probably expected. Charlotte in particular looked like a beast, and the crowd was very much into it from the get-go.
It's just a shame that James Ellsworth had to get involved: the first ever women's MITB really didn't need the involvement of a man, let alone for him to essentially "win" the match. It was such a tone-deaf booking choice that made a rather unpleasant statement about women's wrestling, all the more so when a restart was teased but didn't actually happen.
The appalling ending dragged down an otherwise very solid match, even if it was still way too short. 6/10
