9. The XFL
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioh3dXJnzws No, Im not joking. For all the crap that the XFL received (and it was all justified), and how awful the first game was, there were actually some exciting football games. I recall watching a game where a team was driving with a minute left to go with no timeouts, made a first down in field goal range, and scrambled to get the field goal unit on the field while the clock was winding down, and got the field goal off with one second remaining to win the game. There were 40 regular season games played, and three playoff games. In the 30 weeks that the NFL is done for the off-season, the WWE Network could play one game each Sunday. Some people would just want to see football in any capacity, and it would tide them over nicely for the next NFL season. And although Im sure Vince McMahon doesnt need any reminders of the colossal failure that the XFL was, it did contribute some aspects that are seen in modern sports today, such as the sky cam in the NFL and in-game interviews. The XFL is part of WWEs video library, but its also partly owned by NBC, so Im not sure what kind of legal hoops WWE would have to go through to get the XFL on the WWE Network, but Ive got a feeling that NBC would probably say have at it, go nuts.
