WWE Night Of Champions: 12 Major Talking Points

1. Kane Returns

Last time we saw Kane, he was demolished by Brock Lesnar due to his involvement with the Authority. Prior to that, he was involved in a mini-feud with Rollins over how Rollins was treating him almost like a manservant.

Well, no more.

Last night, after Sheamus attempted to cash in his MITB briefcase, Kane returned in his most recent ‘masked demon’ attire, and scared Sheamus away, before turning his attention onto Rollins. Kane Chokeslammed both men, and then Tombstoned Rollins to end the show.

This is a sign that the rivalry between Kane and Rollins is going to become a major feud for Rollins, at least for the next little while. Given WWE’s track record since SummerSlam, it’s possible that Kane would be coming after the WWE Championship, and that this return would mark his final major run as a babyface character.

If that’s true, then expect to see Kane featured heavily in the weeks to come.

With Hell in a Cell five weeks away, WWE have a relatively long time to re-build Kane as a true monster. He has been treated as an enormous jobber for the past year or so, and so if this truly is Kane’s last hurrah, then he should be presented as a real monster one last time and get one last shot before hanging up the boots for good.
