WWE Night of Champions - Live on Sky Box Office

Match #2: Divas Champion Layla vs. Kaitlyn People have been €œhating€ on Kaitlyn ever since she won the Divas Battle Royale to become the number one contender for Layla€™s belt, but I€™m actually going to come to Kaitlyn€™s defense. It€™s definitely true that her big match experience is severely limited, and this will unquestionably be the biggest one she has worked to date, but she€™s adapted well to this new push. She even scored what I would consider to be her most impressive victory to date over Natalya, the Women€™s Division€™s most impressive technician outside of the current champion, following that up on Friday with an equally impressive technical showing in her victory over Beth Phoenix. Even so, it doesn€™t feel to me as though Kaitlyn will be able to overcome her good friend and close ally. Layla represents a huge step forward for the Divas in the same way Trish Stratus and Lita did once upon a time, with an innovative and unique approach to working her matches that actually hypes up crowds for the Women€™s matches in a way the WWE hasn€™t be able to capture since the aforementioned Stratus and Lita had their rivalry in the Attitude Era. She and other Divas are adapting their style away from traditional bruisers and focusing more on grace and technical skill, qualities that have actually begun to differentiate the Divas division as both competitive and exciting to watch. This is a total positive for the technical advancement of the women€™s division, and the Divas need a champ who can reflect their changing and unique role with the WWE. Winner: Layla
