WWE Night of Champions - Live on Sky Box Office
Match #6: Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara vs. Cody RhodesThis match looks sneaky good on paper, and has experience an extremely fun buildup. The Miz goes into this title match as its most prominent heel; a superstar whose self-entitlement and ego is rivaled by none who has stated that hes looking for a way to make the Intercontinental Title relevant again. Funnily enough, that may be achieved more effectively if one of his three opponents manages to score a pinfall or submission Sunday Night. In recent months, fans seem to be growing weary of The Miz, and there has been much criticism over his appeal. Out of all the competitors, it feels like the Miz makes the title the least relevant, which leaves us with the other 3 competitors. In Rey Mysterio, you have the most decorated luchador in history, a veteran with the most breathtaking performances of any superstar since Shawn Michaels retirement. Were Rey to take the title off of Miz after suffering his concussion, it would be a great moment of redemption for him, and a surefire way to bring the Intercontinental Title back to its once-lofty perch, standing as a true test for up and comers to reach as they begin their careers. Sin Cara, on the other hand, might be just the young star to earn his relevance through winning the title. In recent weeks, hes been the most impressive performer of the four, putting up victories over Cody Rhodes and The Miz, and hes developed his own unique take on the luchador style that has endeared him to the WWE fans. The biggest x-factor, however, is the inclusion of Cody Rhodes into this match. Like Sin Cara, Cody Rhodes could really elevate himself with a victory at Night of Champions, but theres something blacker to his intentions. His misguided sense of justice and fairness has been on display in recent weeks, and he is starting to show a certain ability and bravado that we saw from the likes of John Cena and Randy Orton eight years ago. I think this will be an extremely fun match, but I think the chances of The Miz holding onto his belt are seriously slim. Cody Rhodes has begun to truly grow as a wrestling talent, and I have a feeling that hell find a way to repeat the scene from this weeks Raw and stand over the Miz holding the Intercontinental Title. Winner: Cody Rhodes
