WWE Night of Champions - Live on Sky Box Office

Main Event: WWE Champion CM Punk vs. John Cena There could be no more perfect rivalry for the Reality-Era WWE than this one. The champion, a call back to the traditional workmanship of wrestling, representing a new era of superstars who have shed blood, sweat, and tears in independents and cult-level wrestling organizations to make it to the biggest stage. The challenger, a battle tested veteran who happens to be the most polarizing superstar in WWE history, someone who feeds off of the controversial nature of his appeal and criticisms of his legitimacy as a main-eventer, rising above it all to remain one of the WWE€™s best. Juxtaposed as strongly as The Rock and Stone Cold once upon a time, both Punk and Cena seem destined to square off against each other for many years to come, and in a way, that€™s a very good thing for wrestling. Cena may represent a €œsell-out€ to the die-hard fans of the internet, but he€™s also proven to be a very capable in ring athlete, someone who brought into vogue a new and unique style that borrowed from past superstars while simultaneously putting in touches that made him electrifying to a new generation of fans the way the Rock did for kids growing up in the Attitude Era. Like it or not, he€™s the natural extension of Hulk Hogan and The Rock. Punk, on the other hand, is a wrestling journeyman, someone who truly had to love sports entertainment in order to make himself relevant. In the end, Punk found true irreverence in his voice, and used that to propel himself into heel royalty, taking all the self-awareness of stars like Triple H and Chris Jericho and turning it into a pointed arrogance that gets him well-deserved heat. And now, after weeks of going at each other over the mic and backstage, with even Paul Heyman getting involved, we finally get to see Cena and Punk go to work in the ring. We are certainly in for a well-worked and enthralling match, and I have a feeling that CM Punk will continue to haunt John Cena at Night of Champions and retain his title. With Paul Heyman in the building, it looks like Punk may even have some help from outside the ring. Something tells me that these two are headed for an even bigger climax at Survivor Series, but they will hopefully provide with a true classic on Sunday. I hope everyone enjoys the pay-per-view! Winner: CM Punk
