WWE Night Of Champions Results: 10 Things We Learned
10. Kevin Owens Is Intercontinental Champ
During his post-match promo, Kevin Owens repeatedly stated that he was the best WWE has to offer. The brash and confident former NXT Heavyweight Champion is popular with fans, and his cocky arrogance is not misplaced. WWE have impressed by booking Owens against the grain. Instead of penning the man to be a cowardly heel, he's one who can back up his strong words with strong performances inside the ring. When it matters, Owens can get the job done, and that was definitely the case at Night Of Champions. Ryback's reign as Intercontinental Champion had felt contrived, a poor substitute for the one Daniel Bryan would have had were it not for injury. In Owens, WWE now have an Intercontinental Champ fans will enjoy watching. Yes, he's a heel, but he's also a magnetic personality. Kevin Owens feels far more like a deserving Intercontinental Champion than Ryback ever did, and that gives the belt some much-needed credibility.
