WWE No Mercy 2016: 10 Things We Learned

1. Randy Orton Loses On Pay-Per-View Again

It's no disgrace for any performer to lose a match to Brock Lesnar. Back at SummerSlam, that's exactly what Randy Orton did. Even though he was written to go down swinging, the fact is that Orton was never going to beat 'The Beast'. Still, at least he had a worthwhile rebound in the form of Bray Wyatt, right?

Wrong, Orton stared at the arena lights once more on pay-per-view. At No Mercy, Randy was defeated in the main event by a motivated Wyatt. Unbelievably, this means that Randy Orton has lost two WWE pay-per-view matches on the spin, both at SummerSlam and at No Mercy.

On the surface, wins and losses don't matter to a veteran like Orton as much as they once did. Still, it's interesting to learn that he's now officially on a losing streak on pay-per-view.

The rot will stop sooner rather than later, one would imagine. Wyatt arguably needed the win much more than his peer, so it's heartening that the creative team didn't just give Orton back a win on a major event for the sake of it.
