During the Kickoff show, Shane McMahon revealed during a backstage segment (also starring General Manager Daniel Bryan and Alexa Bliss) that SmackDown Women's Champion becky Lynch wouldn't be appearing at No Mercy. Therefore, this meant that Alexa's shot at the title was postponed, obviously giving the heel something to whinge about.

McMahon didn't go into detail about what had happened to Becky, she just didn't show as scheduled on the pay-per-view. WWE still ran hype for the match during the No Mercy introductory hype package, even when they knew the bout wasn't going to take place. It's a shame that the Irish champ wasn't able to appear.

Shane and Daniel Bryan said that Bliss would still be in action on the show, something backed up again by the announce team during the proper pay-per-view broadcast itself.

It's unclear at this point just how long Lynch will be on the shelf for. Bryan did say that Alexa would get her shot on the November 8 edition of SmackDown Live though, which suggests it won't be too lengthy an absence.
