Later at No Mercy, Alexa Bliss faced off against Naomi. The fluorescent colours of the latter, along with her pumping dance music intro, can get the blood flowing. Thankfully, Naomi isn't too shabby inside the ring either, meaning she was a satisfactory choice to replace the injured Becky Lynch on the show.

It would have been easy to picture Bliss getting a morale-boosting win on pay-per-view to take home with her. After all, Daniel Bryan had just rescheduled her shot for the SmackDown Women's Title to next month. It was almost impossible to picture Bliss coming up short against Naomi in the cobbled-together affair.

Incredibly, that's exactly what happened. Before the pay-per-view, Alexa had been penned in to challenge Becky Lynch for the Women's Title. Fast-forward just a few hours and she was staring at the ceiling for Naomi at No Mercy.

By virtue of this win, Naomi is now surely in the hunt for female gold herself. Bliss may still get her one-on-one shot, there's no need to veer too far away from that idea. However, Naomi is now firmly in the conversation.
