WWE No Mercy 2016: 10 Things You May Have Missed

1. WWE Harking Back To The Ultimate Warrior In WCW

Randy Orton
WWE Network

By far the oddest moment of the entire pay-per-view, a brief backstage segment aired showing Randy Orton getting ready for his main event showdown with Bray Wyatt. Looking into a nearby mirror, Orton wore a confused look on his face as his image distorted and twisted. Shaking his head, things quickly returned back to normal.

Infamously, WCW had used a similar tactic in 1998. Before The Warrior faced Hollywood Hogan at Halloween Havoc, the latter was shown freaking out to Eric Bischoff that he could see his foe in the mirror. Bischoff couldn't see a thing, yet somehow fans at home were able to see what Hulk was seeing.

WWE didn't perform the idea as dramatically as WCW did, that must be said. However, everyone watching could see Orton's face morph grotesquely. The announcers remarked that Wyatt was using mind games to get inside Randy's head before the headline bout.

If that was the case, then he was also infiltrating the minds of all the fans watching in the arena and on the WWE Network too. This was definitely a recycled idea from the WCW days.
