WWE NXT ARRIVAL Review - 5 Things We Learned

4. Gimmicks And Characters Are Vital

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q--N78Q-SpE I'm now going to list the characters and gimmicks who appeared on NXT ArRIVAL..... CJ Parker, an earth warrior heel hippie Tyler Breeze, an incredibly vain Zoolander style male model who constantly takes selfies Alexander Rusev, the Bulgarian Brute super athlete (who is incidentally proceeding according to plan http://whatculture.com/wwe/wwe-5-ways-get-alexander-rusev-2014.php) Mojo Rawley, an extremely energetic man who never stops being hyped That's just a small sampling of what NXT has to offer. This seems to be another case of WWE flagship having things ass-backwards. In recent years, they've moved towards wrestlers using realistic sounding names and surnames, as they feel that its more realistic. Which is fine, a touch of legitimacy in the right place can do wonders, but again I come back to the argument that wrestling is storytelling. I know these guys names, but I don't know what their motivations are or how they'd react in situations, so it doesn't draw me in. Whereas if I see Tyler Breeze, an incredibly vain priss taking selfies, its not a great leap to assume he probably wont like being hit in his pretty face. Maybe I want to see that happen and see what he'd do! Its not rocket science to actually give the characters in your story some personality and, you know... character. So again, seeing how much NXT prides themselves on this is very reassuring.

He's hung out with Robert Plant, he was at Nelson Mandela's birthday and he's swapped stories with prostitutes and crack addicts. He once performed at a Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras by accident. These days, he passes the time by writing about music, wrestling, games and other forms of nerdery. And he rarely drinks the blood of the innocent.
