WWE NXT ARRIVAL Review - 5 Things We Learned

3. The Tag Team Division Has Its New Kings

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsky9BBNZ3g Even just watching those guys come down the ramp and enter the ring is intimidating. Konnor and Viktor of The Ascension give off an air of such intensity that you instantly fear for whoever their opponents are. In NXT, they have run roughshod over any tag teams that crossed their path, and at ArRIVAL (I know its annoying, but that's how they chose to spell it, so we're stuck with it) they went up against a surprise team. The way this was sold was that The Ascension were so dominant that they didn't care who their opponents were, because they would be beaten anyway. As it turned out, their opponents were a returning Too Cool (yeah, bet you wished you watched it now!) who came out to a massive crowd ovation. And Viktor and Konnor slaughtered them. They took both members apart with power moves and eventually won with their signature team manoeuvre, The Fall Of Man. Still, at least we got to see The Worm. The team looked like dominant animals, but more importantly, they looked like a team. On flagship programming these days, most teams are comprised of thrown together singles wrestlers with nothing better to do, and the only team you can honestly say look and function like a tag team are The Usos. When The Ascension come up, expect that to change.
