The main event of Sami Zayn against Finn Balor was enjoyable but this triple threat main event blew it out of the water. Finn and Sami were clear crowd favourites with the audience going equally crazy for both, while Baron Corbin looked immensely comfortable playing the villain and looked like he was having the time of his life doing it. A highlight of the match was Zayn trying on Balors jacket as Balor was giving Zayn into trouble for daring to impersonate him and then Finn getting his revenge by putting on Samis coat and hat and mocking his entrance. Baron Corbin rushed in with vicious kicks and punches to stop the comedy and get things back to a serious main event contest. The three guys worked a fast pace with incredible exchanges throughout. In all the time Ive seen Finn Balor in WWE, this has been clearly his best match. Balor showed more charisma here than any NXT bout Ive seen him in. He was working like he could lose his Championship at any moment and in the crowd, we all bought into it so with every near fall and every big exchange, we were on the edge of their seats until Finn finally got the victory and kept his NXT title. Blackpool was an incredible show from the crowd to the chants to the performances by all the NXT talent. If this show is an indicator of the rest of the tour, then NXT as a touring brand is here to stay and the only way is up.
