WWE NXT Blackpool - 10 Live Observations

9. Historic THREE Women€™s Matches On The Card

With three women€™s matches on the card in Blackpool, it became the first UK event in the history of WWE touring here for almost 30 years that so many women were featured on one show. It was exciting to be a part of it and none of the matches felt like filler. Nobody was going for a toilet break or to grab a drink, they wanted to see the ladies in action. In the first Women€™s contest of the evening, Alexa Bliss faced off against Asuka. Even though they worked a similar match to the Glasgow show, I was able to see more confidence in Bliss in working with the Japanese Sensation. Even though she isn€™t as experienced, Alexa managed to keep up with Asuka in a fun match before the cross face chicken wing was applied and it was game over for Alexa Bliss. As Carmella made her way out to the ring after the intermission, proclaiming herself the €˜Princess of Blackpool€™, her happy demeanour was short lived as the dominant Nia Jax came out to face her. Jax worked incredibly well as a monster during this match and the tale of Carmella being David to Jax€™s Goliath was an entertaining dynamic before Nia finally put Carmella away and continued her path of destruction en route to Wednesday€™s Takeover in London.
