Poor Curtis Axel. There's not a lot happening for him right now. Fans were expecting a slight boost to his profile with the formation of the Meta Powers, but that seems to have gone out of the window with them being handily defeated by The Ascension on the Kickoff show. This stings twice as hard because Axel was previously undefeated at Payback. He won the IC title in a triple threat in 2013, and in 2014 Rybaxel defeated Cody Rhodes and Stardust. Despite going full-Hogan on Sunday, that streak has now been shattered. It's a heavy blow for Curtis Axel. It's a heavy blow for everyone.
