WWE Payback 2017: 10 Huge Predictions You Need To Know

8. Tag Team Domination

The Hardy Boyz' surprise return at WrestleMania injected life into turgid tag league on the red brand, as had the foreshadowing addition of a ladder a week out from the triple threat Tag Team Title match featuring Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Sheamus and Cesaro.

Pairing four teams off into separate matches for the card has made the division look busier, but the real entertainment is likely to be in this first time clash pitting Matt and Jeff against the 'Swiss Superman' and 'The Celtic Warrior' following two choice singles matches on back-to-back editions of Monday Night Raw.

Establishing begrudging babyface respect between the tandems, the contests have both gone in favour of the brothers, which would conventionally mean a title change on Sunday was imminent. However, the more interesting story has been told in the post-script, with Cesaro and especially Sheamus reluctantly shaking hands with the victors on both occasions, creating an uneasy bond between the teams that has to be fractured eventually.

The angle mirrors Matt and Jeff's post-WrestleMania run with cowboys Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch in 2007, and the naturally sympathetic North Carolinians were eventually attacked then, too. A further victory over the kilt-sporting powerhouses may trigger a similarly vicious turn.
