WWE Payback 2020: 8 Nightmares That Could Come True

Wreck-It-Roman?

SummerSlam has come and gone and WWE have three-four weeks of prep before they present another pay-per-view. ONLY KIDDING! Payback happens this Sunday, and the company has already announced four matches for the show. Another handful are expected to leak ASAP.

This quick turnaround could be a nightmare.

Of course, that wasn't the case last weekend. SummerSlam was a refreshing, sunshine-y treat that largely delivered when it came to the bigger matches (Asuka vs. Sasha Banks, Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins and Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre were all fun, for example). Payback's imminence clouded things a little though - it was hard to view SummerSlam as some summery blow-off when another card was just seven nights away.

WWE move quickly, but rarely this quickly. Payback could be another pleasant surprise, but it's time to play cynic regardless and look at everything that could go wrong inside the ThunderDome if WWE aren't careful with their booking.

Unwanted title changes, the complete squashing of promising talent, false starts for brand newcomers and one of WWE's biggest reverting to type? It could all happen...
