WWE: Possible Roads To Wrestlemania XXX Of 6 Top Stars

2. Daniel Bryan

Out of all the WWE performers this Wrestlemania, Daniel Bryan is the one that needs to be made this at New Orleans. Cena and Orton have reached the peak of their careers already and there is no doubt that Punk can handle losses because of his skill in the ring and on the microphone. The Shield and the Wyatts on the other hand will be there one day, just not yet. Furthermore, while Cena has fought the Rock in the last two Manias, Punk has had Jericho and the Undertaker and Orton has main evented at least twice (though it has to be said not recently...), Bryan's Wrestlemania resume is rather thin. For Bryan therefore, this Wrestlemania needs to be big. Massive in fact, where he manages to cast all hurdles between him and the title aside and finally manages to get his hands on it before a substantial title reign. That would be the orthodox conclusion for a story that has seen Bryan basically plummet from the top of the card to occupy time with the (admittedly captivating and destined-for-great-things) Wyatt family. The WWE has been holding Bryan back for the ultimate payoff that is a title victory at Wrestlemania 30- a victory that will catapult Bryan into the stratosphere. However, there seems some that would like to see CM Punk hold the title and reserve Bryan for a more personal feud against either Triple H or even Shawn Michaels. While the feud itself would be simplicity itself to craft and set up- particularly if Michaels himself was involved, there is a couple of things that the WWE should be slightly wary of. Firstly, should a HBK feud occur, Michaels has not wrestled for the best part of four years, so there may be a little ring rust to shake (though if there was anyone who could carry him through this, it would be Bryan). The second thing is the fallout after Mania. Should, hypothetically, CM Punk win the title at Wrestlemania, we can be sure of a substantial run of 3-4 months at least afterwards. But what would happen to Bryan afterwards? Who would be his next big feud to ensure that he stays a main event player and doesn't just get forgotten about amongst the shuffle? Punk was lucky enough to have a massive program laid out between himself and Paul Heyman (indeed, the angle was so good that it almost managed to mask some pretty forgettable matches besides the Lesnar one). Will they have something similar for Bryan if he doesn't have gold around his waist. Whatever they choose, this is the Wrestlemania that should allow Bryan to finally be that third face along side Punk and Cena.
