WWE: Possible Roads To Wrestlemania XXX Of 6 Top Stars

1. John Cena

Yes, John Cena. It should be known that since Wrestlemania 21, John Cena has not been in a World Title match only once- and that match happened to be the Main Event of Wrestlemania 28 against the Rock. This would suggest that Mr Hustle, Loyalty and Respect will get to the big dance again with the big gold belt on the line. However, before we all pencil it in, there's a couple of things to consider. Firstly, for the first time in a while, the WWE can see life after Cena and there is definitely two babyfaces who are shaping up better to be in the WWE Championship match then Cena himself- CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. The temptation may be to have one of them win the Rumble and then throw Cena in to make it a triple threat, but the WWE have shield away from Triple Threats lately (there was World Title Triple Threats in 2013) and while it does work in certain scenarios (Benoit/Triple H/Michaels) in others it often looks messy. The second thing to consider is if the WWE is looking for Bryan or Punk to hold the belt for a while, where does this leave Cena? We saw in 2012 how the idea of him being an anti-authority figure fell flat on its face, with Cena unable to mobilise the crowd against John Lauranitis the way CM Punk did. Furthermore, the idea of fighting some of the WWE's top heels is not particularly viable for a man who has spent eight years at the top (Lesnar- check, Mark Henry- check, the Big Show- check, Kane- check, Orton- check). So there are two options for Cena post-Wrestlemania: move down the card slightly and feud with some of the up and comers like the Wyatt Family and Roman Reigns from the Shield, as well as reignite feuds with the likes of Damien Sandow. Or, do the impossible and go heel. I am going to stick my neck out and say that Cena may go heel post-Wrestlemania, and if that's the case he needs the sort of foe who can help get him there. Enter the Undertaker. I think this could well be the Undertaker's swan song as a wrestler. I realise many would love to see him retire in Dallas in two years, but I think after a quarter century in the business, this could be the best way to go out. If that's the case then John Cena would be the only matchup for him (I realise Brock Lesnar is still being discussed, but I think he's better utilised elsewhere). The face of the WWE versus the conscience (as JR used to call him) of the WWE would be a great way to not only send Taker out on a high, but also plant the seed of any new developments that they may have in store for Cena.
