Put a picture of Steve Austin from his 'Stone Cold' days in front of anyone who's so much as heard of pro wrestling and there's a good chance they'll recognise him. Stick a snap of Austin with long flowing locks of blonde hair and his 'Stunning' gimmick from WCW though and things might be different.

This quiz aims to test your detective skills and see which individual characteristics or physical features stand out in some of wrestling's biggest names. There's one rule: the pics have to come from a time before they were major stars and playing their more familiar roles.

Anyone expecting an easy ride (or straightforward examples like The Rock as Flex Kavana and Triple H as Jean-Paul Lévesque), look elsewhere. Some of these are legitimately tough, and the answers may just surprise you. To make things interesting, there are a few wrestlers of TNA and New Japan fame thrown in.
