10. Wrestlemania 8: Sid vs Hogan - The Non Dream Match

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqQTPefRwqM This should have been Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan. Throughout the end of 1991 and the classic 1992 Royal Rumble, that seemed to be the plan. The Nature Boy vs The Hulkster in 92 was long a dream of NWA and WWE fans of the 1980's, but WWE decided to give us Sid Justice vs Hogan. Yawn. Sid was getting a positive response from fans as far back as the Royal Rumble of that year. Sid had a charisma that leaped off the screen, and a hilarious pose where he dropped to one knee, extended his arms and signaled for anyone to come get some. To put that into perspective, he turned fans against Hulk Hogan and Shawn Michaels when they were red hot baby faces. However, fans just wanted something else. The match was slow paced, a far cry from the classics between Ric Flair and Randy Savage & Bret Hart and Roddy Piper that took place earlier. Throw in a botch from Papa Shango who missed his cue to break up the action, which led to Sid kicking out of the legdrop, which led to the ref calling for a DQ, (yes they planned on ending Wrestlemania with a disqualification) which brought out a returning Ultimate Warrior, this was all kinds of terrible. Fans today would have wanted refunds.
