WWE: Ranking Undertaker's 21 WrestleMania Victories Worst To Best

1. Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania XXV

There are several Superstars who can lay claim to having a great match at WrestleMania. Very few, however, can argue that they competed in the greatest match in the history of the event. Undertaker and Shawn Michaels are two of those Superstars. Michaels earned the right to face Undertaker by defeating JBL at February's No Way Out pay-per-view, then set about affecting the psyche of the Dead Man with talk of light and dark. He outsmarted his longtime peer and even leveled him with Sweet Chin Music leading into WrestleMania XXV. Two of the most admired and respected stars to ever grace a squared circle, there was a great deal of anticipation and excitement surrounding the match as fans wondered if they would be able to recapture the magic that their first series of matches had back in 1997. Both competitors took tremendous risks early in the bout. Michaels attempted a top rope moonsault to the arena floor but Undertaker moved and Michaels crashed to the arena floor. The Phenom dove over the top rope but this time, it was Michaels who moved out of the way, causing Undertaker to take out a cameraman and nearly break his neck in the process. Back inside the squared circle, counter wrestling prevailed as each veteran was fully aware of what the other was setting up and was able to escape. In some cases, they were unable to slip out the backdoor and fell victim to their opponent's signature moves. Michaels fought through chokeslams, Last Rides, Hell's Gates and even Tombstones while Undertaker survived Sweet Chin Music. The fans in Houston's Reliant Stadium lived and breathed with every near-fall. The response they gave the action that Undertaker and Michaels supplied made the match that much more epic. The spectacular finish came when Michaels climbed the ropes and attempted a moonsault. As he came off the top rope, Undertaker caught him and delivered a Tombstone, putting HBK away via pinfall. It was heralded as an instant classic, the type of match WrestleMania was made for. With all of the pressure weighing on every Superstar on the card, not to mention the pomp and circumstance surrounding the show, Michaels and Undertaker were able to focus on delivering the best match possible. They did just that, a live-action masterpiece that continues to see its legend grow with every repeat viewing. Can the Undertaker continue his streak?
