1. Ric Flair Played His Role Perfectly
Throughout this week's Raw, recap footage was shown of Charlotte ordering her father to leave the ring in May. That marked the end of Ric Flair's association with his daughter, and the legend wasn't really seen until coming back to raise the hand of Sasha Banks last week.
Looking to apologise for her actions, Charlotte invited her dad to Raw. Looking pensive, the 'Nature Boy' didn't smile when his little girl did. Even when hugging his daughter, Ric appeared hurt by what had occurred months before. By contrast, Charlotte was all smiles and wanted to make amends with her flesh and blood.
That's when she delivered a cruel slap to Ric. Crying, Flair used the ropes to hold himself up and looked like he couldn't believe what had happened. As much as he held off on embracing Charlotte, it was believable that Ric didn't see the strike coming.
Even when Charlotte hammered Sasha Banks at ringside, Ric looked like he had seen a ghost. There was some expert acting in this segment.
Flair's initial coldness and Charlotte's smile, as though she had trapped her father and fooled him once more, really worked a treat.
