It has been a summer of reduction for Jason Jordan, despite repeated mishandled attempts by the company to add to his presentation. The revelation of his relationship with Kurt Angle can now safely be considered a bust, whilst the loss of virtually everything related to his past-life as an American Alpha member alongside Chad Gable has took away so much of what made him a exhilarating presence in NXT.

The latest thing to depart were his straps, as the former SmackDown Live! Tag Team Champion trotted down the aisle in brand new shorts presumably designed to create further separation from his prosperous past life. The new togs took away his ability to pull down his straps for the big comeback and might be one of the reasons why his makeshift combo with Matt Hardy lost to never-winners Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

However, most extra-attentive viewers were probably still reeling at the tacit revelation that somebody within WWE at least once watched TNA.

Peddling the p*ss-weak 'Gold Blooded' line yet again, Tom Phillips questioned if Jordan could be 'Cold Blooded' too. It was more than just a rhyme. WWE may not be over-keen on letting Matt Hardy be 'Broken', but in another Orlando incarnation, he took on that exact moniker. It was the nadir of Hardy's career. It remains to be seen if the nickname goes two-for-two with Kurt's troubled progeny.
