WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (June 27)
3. AJ Styles Tells Seth Rollins He Owes Him One
During the opening segment of Monday Night Raw, Stephanie McMahon set up two huge matches for the show. Firstly, John Cena would collide with Seth Rollins, before AJ Styles faced Dean Ambrose in the main event. A win for either Cena or AJ would insert them into the WWE Title picture at Battleground, potentially turning the match into a 'Fatal-5-Way'.
Cena was booked to lose to Rollins, and it was all because The Club showed up to ruin his chances. Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and AJ Styles marched out when it looked like Cena may have the situation firmly in hand, taking his eye off the ball and allowing Seth a route back in.
After Rollins had won, The Club were all smiles at ringside. Gallows and Anderson focused on taunting Cena for his loss, but Styles chose to do something different. Instead of being all friendly with another top heel, he decided to inform Rollins that he now owes AJ one.
Again, the camera stayed on AJ for just a few seconds, making the statement easy to miss. If WWE are smart, they'll use this further on down the road.
