WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (May 16)
4. Three Men And A Chair
Up until a few years ago, fans had a nickname for John Cena - Super Cena. That name was a reference to the fact that Cena was usually booked to look unbeatable, overcoming tremendous odds to the point where many fans (specifically those who didn't like him) were sickened by how strongly he was pushed.
Well, if Cena is Superman, Roman Reigns must be Galactus (yes, I know they're from different publishers). Reigns is pushed so strongly that he almost never gets laid out, even to build up drama for a future match. It's a shock that the same decision-makers who are so worried about making Reigns look bad are the ones who have killed his momentum by scripting segments that emphasize his weaknesses rather than his strengths.
This week was a rare beating for Reigns, undoubtedly because he's winning at Extreme Rules. He wasn't simply laid out by his opponent at the PPV, AJ Styles, though - he managed to take out Styles, then put Luke Gallows down with a Superman punch, then do the same to Karl Anderson. Only after Reigns had single-handedly beaten down The Club did Styles get some revenge... with a steel chair, of course.
