WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (May 23)
1. The Shape Of Things To Come
In Raw's main event, AJ Styles and Kevin Owens had an great encounter, with a spot in the Money in the Bank match on the line. Gallows and Anderson didn't interfere against Styles or on his behalf, but the beating "The Phenomenal One" took at Extreme Rules had taken a toll, and Owens was able to score a clean win over him.
So where does Styles go from here? Even though his former friends didn't attack him yet, that can't be far off. That would set up a feud between Styles and The Club, which could in turn lead to a tag match at Money in the Bank... if Styles finds a partner.
The perfect choice for Styles's new teammate would be none other than someone who knows The Club inside and out - namely, Finn Balor. After losing to Samoa Joe at TakeOver: Revenge, Balor can jump to the main roster and offer Styles his help, saying that he knows better than anyone else what Anderson and Gallows are capable of.
That leaves us with Styles and Balor versus Gallows and Anderson at Money in the Bank. Of course, absolutely everybody - save Styles - will be able to tell where this is headed, but that won't make it any less satisfying when Balor turns on "The Phenomenal One," forming Balor Club and kicking off an exciting new program in WWE.
