The third MITB qualifier saw Chris Jericho take on Apollo Crews. Jericho was still selling the injuries and thumbtack wounds he suffered in the Asylum Match at Extreme Rules, but Crews also came into the bout at a disadvantage - earlier in the show, Sheamus (who was angry at having lost to Sami Zayn) attackedCrews backstage for no reason.

The match was another good one, and during the contest, the announcers mentioned that the Money in the Bank match was actually Chris Jericho's idea. While they didn't get into details, that's true (in storyline, at least). Prior to WrestleMania 21, Jericho was the one who proposed the concept of the match, putting together six superstars, a ladder, and a contract for an anytime, anywhere shot at the WWE Championship. Unfortunately, Jericho wouldn't succeed in his own creation, as Edge claimed the briefcase.

With his win over Apollo Crews, Jericho qualified for his fifth Money in the Bank match. As for Crews, it was not-so-subtly teased that he'll be taking on Sheamus at the Pay-Per-View.
