8. Miz Is Right
The second qualifying bout for the Money in the Bank match focused on two men who were part of the Intercontinental Title match at Extreme Rules - Cesaro and IC Champ The Miz. Prior to the bout, The Miz and Maryse cut a promo bragging about his win in the match, putting over how he overcame the odds and defeated three of the best talents in WWE.
Miz went on to describe how he's THE champion because he retained THE title, and I'm prepared to accept that. After all, over the past couple of months, the Intercontinental Title scene has been more compelling that the WWE Title scene. Sure, AJ Styles has been an amazing first opponent for Roman Reigns following his win at WrestleMania, but "The Phenomenal One" never really stood a chance at capturing the title. Instead, he just lost in frustrating fashion.
The Miz, meanwhile, has hung onto his title through nefarious means, but he's still been doing his best work in years. Add on the contributions of Cesaro, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens, and I'm ready to start pretending The Miz, and not The Guy, is the champ.
