WWE Raw: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (Nov 14)

1. Survivor Series Has Become Akin To Bragging Rights

In 2009 and 2010, WWE presented a pay-per-view called Bragging Rights. The core concept revolved around one big Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown match. Afterwards, the winning brand would take home a special trophy and have the titular ability to crow about such a victory.

Occurring in October each year, Bragging Rights fell just before Survivor Series. Naturally, this diluted the team elimination premise badly. For Survivor Series 2016, WWE are relying on the idea of brand warfare selling once more. That may be fine, if the company hadn't wheeled out those garish t-shirts designed to exhibit brand loyalty.

On Raw, the invading SmackDown crew wore blue shirts to display their pride. This came across like the same naff idea Bragging Rights had hinged on, one which didn't really capture the imagination of those watching.

Raw featured a number of references that harked back to the abandoned pay-per-view. If Team Raw wear red shirts to complement SmackDown's blue at Survivor Series, it'll feel like Bragging Rights all over again.
