WWE RAW 30/10/13 Review

Closing Segment: Daniel Bryan & Randy Orton

Daniel Bryan

Daniel comes out to a massive pop, followed by Randy to a mixed reaction (I really feel bad for heels in the current era). Randy talks a big game about how he is glad he is back to his old ways, and thanks Triple H for the inspiration (I'm sure Stephanie was the one who told him).

Daniel Bryan then got on the microphone and told Randy he never needed help from management to find his potential; he just goes out there and earns it. Massive "Yes!" chants start from the crowd follow, much to Randy's dismay.

After some back and forth with the crowd, Randy tells Daniel that one day Brie will wake up and realise she isn't sleeping with an A+, good looking champion like Randy Orton. She is sleeping with a barnyard animal like Daniel Bryan.

Daniel Bryan reacts badly and begins his beat-down of Randy Orton; he takes him to the outside and hits him with stiff kicks. Randy eventually gets the upper-hand and begins to demolish the YES! man.

As he is about to drop him to the floor with a hanging apron DDT, Brie Bella runs out and begs him to stop. His reply? A massive DDT to the floor. As Brie begs him again, he clears the announce table, puts Daniel Bryan on top and drops him with a massive RKO to end the show. The Apex Predator has returned.

Rating: 9.5/10

Review: Daniel Bryan now has a new road-block to his quest to hold the WWE Championship for more than 24 hours, as Randy Orton has upped his game. Orton is looking more aggressive, more dominant and more sadistic than he has done for a long time. He is looking more legitimate, and now the rivalry looks a lot more level than it did at Night of Champions.

This rivalry has been well played-out in developing both superstars. From the beginning, it looked like only Daniel Bryan needed the feud to help him elevate himself in the eyes of the fans, but Randy Orton soon showed that he was not quite as evil as we were used too. Everything has changed now, though, and everyone is more invested in the story than ever.

This is a story-line that just keeps on giving. We have ovations and happiness when Bryan wins the title, controversy and boos when Daniel is put back down again, and shock and awe when Randy Orton does the things he does. Now we have an emotional factor in Brie Bella, and we all know how Randy Orton likes to play with his rivals' women.

I hope to see a match at Battleground where Randy Orton goes over clean, and we see Daniel Bryan raise his game one more time for the Hell in a Cell match. Maybe some controversy in the Hell in a Cell match and inventive work from the creative team and this rivalry could legitimately run until TLC. These two are extremely talented, and I hope 2013 isn't the only time these two cross paths.
