WWE RAW 30/10/13 Review

Backstage Segments: Randy Orton & The Bellas, Renee Young and Paul Heyman

Randy Orton1

Randy Orton intimidated the Bella Twins with his typical sadistic malice, while Paul Heyman offered an open invitation to CM Punk to try and get him, but let him know that he will never touch him again.

Review: These are the sort of segments you show to the kids when you are teaching them how to be heels. These 2 guys are genius characters, and you will find no-one in the world better at playing them. These promos both helped to build the upcoming matches at Battleground and are exactly the sort of thing the final RAW before a PPV should be about.

Heyman is one of the greatest actors WWE has ever had on payroll. His ability to promote wrestlers is unbelievable, and when his back is against the wall, it usually produces golden moments, like Ryback destroying Punk. Now, Heyman is in control of the storyline and is back to having that face you just want to punch. He loves the way people hate him, and he is so good at getting us to do it.

On the other side of the fence, the introduction of Brie into the WWE Title storyline is a great idea, as it allows for a more emotional connection to the story, and reminds me of the involvement of Stephanie in the Legacy vs. McMahon storyline of '09. Brie should watch out; Randy was never afraid to RKO a woman.
