In a very surprising and shocking turn of events, Daniel Bryan took to the ring this week on RAW and cut a promo that was part-true story, with the other part certainly being a work. Bryan announced that this Thursday (today) he will have neck surgery. His timetable to return is not known, and the severity of his injury has not been discussed. But nevertheless, your WWE World Heavyweight Champion is leaving the WWE, the Yes Movement having now come to a grinding halt. http://youtu.be/4SJ8FwPCQOg This is a very tough pill to swallow. First of all, Daniel Bryan is stuck in limbo, and he truly has been since his huge career-defining Wrestlemania win. Thrown into a hasty program with his once-tag team partner Kane, Bryan has made the best of a mediocre situation. Listening to Creative and rolling with the punches, Bryan has been saddled with many things that have not worked (hiding backstage, listening to Stephanie time and again, etc). But secondly, and more importantly Daniel Bryan has worked very hard and he has earned the top spot in WWE with recent months and even several years of just excellent in-ring work and some showstopping performances. He found a gimmick in the Yes chant that helped propel him into the stratosphere of popularity across the WWE Universe, and now it all goes on hold...as we wait to see if Daniel Bryan can return from injury.
