WWE RAW Review: 5 Things We Learned (5/12/2014)

1. Rusev Starts To Take Hold

It's been a mixed bag with Rusev since his debut, but WWE seems to finally be onto something by having him run through the main event mid-card roster as they try to establish him as a new, formidable force in WWE. He was a star in NXT, and now he has been brought up with significant fanfare and it is starting to pay off. His act with Lana is fun, and he is coming along nicely as a heel, with some of his act being so very reminiscent of the 1980's and 1990's international flare with The Iron Sheik and Sgt. Slaughter. And his segment with good old Hacksaw Jim Duggan this week was heat-inducing goodness. http://youtu.be/VfGwlroghI4 His future is certainly bright, provided WWE doesn't blow this opportunity like they did with Ryback last year. Rusev has the talent, the look, and the developing brand with Lana to make a real run across the main event landscape over the coming year. Here's to hoping that this time they get it right, and Rusev can become a true monster act much in the same vein of Vader, Andre, and King Kong Bundy...except with actual wrestling ability. What say you, wrestling fans? Is RAW starting to pull it all together in time for Payback? Sounds off in our COMMENTS section, and continue the discussion with me on Twitter! @davyshrader
