And speaking of the Miz, you’d be forgiven for forgetting that he is actually still the reigning Intercontinental Champion. Of course, that’s only because he’s such a big-time movie star, having been out of action for most of June filming the Marine 27 or whatever it is they’re now on.

This week though, it seems that we’re finally going to get another IC title programme, after it was announced that there will be a Battle Royal to determine the number one contender for the Miz’s prestigious championship.

Expect the line-up to feature the odd token big guy and a litany of lower-card fodder, peppered with a few legitimate challengers. With Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens otherwise engaged, Cesaro would seem like a decent bet to win, or maybe even a returning Neville.

That being said, a quick check of recent house show cards—and as a warning, this might constitute a spoiler—could suggest that Darren Young is going to indeed make himself great again by going for the Intercontinental Championship. Here’s hoping he’ll at least bring Backlund with him…
