WWE Raw Chicago Review: 5 Big Talking Points From Seeing It Live

Did he return? Nope, he didn't.

I was live in attendance during the March 3rd Chicago Edition of Monday Night Raw, and boy was it an interesting show to say the least. Fans crammed into the Allstate Arena for what they hoped would be an action packed, star-studded Raw as we saw last week in Green Bay, Wisconsin. What we knew going into the event was reports all over the internet were predicting the Chicago native CM Punk was going to finally return after walking out on Raw the night following January's Royal Rumble. Did he make his triumphant return? Everyone was also excited for the rematch of the Wyatt Family vs. The Shield in 6-man tag action. Did it hold up compared to their bout at Elimination Chamber? Did we see more cracks in The Shield? It's only 34 days away from Wrestlemania and it's time to kick storylines into high gear and have the Wrestlemania XXX match card become more apparent. Do we know of any new matches that we didn't last week? How did Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad and his new film Need For Speed do as a guest star of the night? Did the passionate Chicago crowd get what they were cheering for? Find out as we analyse this week's edition of Monday Night Raw!

5. Did CM Punk Return?

Raw opened with CM Punk's music blaring through the arena and the crowd popped big time. This is exactly what they wanted and they didn't have to wait all night for it. Except... it was just his music coming back to us. Paul Heyman marches to the ring and cuts his own "pipe bomb". For the first time since Punk's departure the WWE acknowledged the CM Punk chants. Heyman talked very highly of Punk and seemed to be building for his grand entrance. However, it steered it's way into a promo about the Undertaker and Brock Lesnar match for Wrestlemania XXX. It was smart of WWE was to finally bring up CM Punk on television. With Chicago chanting his name like crazy for the entire 3 hours, there was no way they could escape it. Heyman was great as always on the microphone but he couldn't save the segment that badly needed more then another Lesnar and Mark Henry tiny brawl. The most interesting part of the segment was when Lesnar was taking apart the table he threw a monitor across the ring that bounced into the audience, looking like it hit someone for a second.
